Tissue Box Cover

I've been wanting to make a tissue box cover for awhile now and finally got the chance to  follow this very easy tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers.  I picked up this little Sad Wombat from Tickled Pink Stamps.  Doesn't he make you wanna hug him?

When I finished the box hubby, said "oh he's crying after watching a sad movie that's cute".  Even tho I was just using Tim Holtz's filmstrip I hadn't even thought of that!!  LOL!!  To me it was just a fabulous embellishment!!

It's going into these challenges:

Cute Card Thursday - Signs of Spring.  Butterflies and flowers.....feels springy to me!!

Tickled Pink Stamps Facebook challenge to be a guest in an April blog hop!

Merry Christmas! JUST KIDDING!

Tickled Pink Christmas Challenge #1 - a monthly challenge for christmas cards and this month's challenge is green, red and gold!  I figure if I can make a card a month then I will at least be done maybe a third of my cards I need.  Maybe.  LOL!  This also gives me a reason to use all those papers I bought and might not use this year cuz there's always new stuff out by then.  hee hee

Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge #9 - "Sewing".  Now...I do realize it's not much but my heart in the corner, is hand stitched.  I did want to do more but this seemed to be the only place where it fit.

I made the flower out of paper......that's not easy by the way.  I folded it in half and THEN wrapped it into this shape.  Trying let me tell you but pretty when finished!!

Stamps: Tickled Pink "Lil Christmas Lad Frankie"
Paper: Bo Bunny "Noel"
Embellishments: Zva self adhesive pearls, Prima Holly flowers, Wild Orchid Crafts bauble garland and misc gold ribbon
Punches: Silhouette holly leaves

Happy 40th To My Hubby!

Today is my husbands 40th birthday!  We did a family dinner Friday night but his really big present is 3 LIVE hockey games.

Today he flew to Calgary, Alberta for the 1st  game of 3 to watch Montreal play Calgary in an outdoor game called the Heritage Classic.  It was cold but he had fun!!

His 2nd game will be on Tuesday when he watches Calgary and his all time favorites Boston Bruins!!  This man LOVES this team!!  He's been a fan since he was a kid.  He hasn't seen them live in over 8+ years.

Which leads to his last game.  He flies back home on Wednesday and then we go to Vancouver for the 3rd game to watch Boston Bruins & Vancouver Canucks.  LUCKY KID!

That brings me to his card!

I found this image at Bonibleaux Designs called SlapStick Sal.  I used a rounded pearl for the puck but the image does come with one of it's own.

The papers are from Lollipop Designs and it's actually a digi scrapbook kit but I made it work for me.  I do know she was working on creating a scrapbook kit for all teams.  WOW!

All the Boston embellies were from the internet.  Oh and I used 2 stamps from Tim Holtz's "Bitty Grunge".

It's getting harder and harder every year to top the last card.  You can only do so many fishing, hunting and hockey cards.  Or can you?!!  Guess I'll find out!!

Wow the ladies at Magnolia-licious Color Challenge blog made me really work this time.  The challenge was to use red, white and black.  Ummmm OMG!!  Any of those colors together seem fine but adding one more of this color trio had me worried!!  "eeeeeeekkkkkkk!"  So I really had to put on my creative thinking cap for this one but I am happy with how it turned out and yes, even happy with the challenge!!  Thanks ladies!!
