CLP Sketch Challenge #38

Have you had your CLP Sketch this month?!!  It's like having your V8....ha ha ha!!  Cuz it's good for your health!!  So just "DO IT" for those of you who are familiar with the Nike commercials.  You think I'm watching too much tv??  LMAO!

ANYWAY, I am using a Magnolia image this month...ya, I know I shocked you didn't I?  2 of them in fact!!  Thank you Cheri!  Also, I'm just lovin' these word tiles.  I could just kick myself for not buying more.  Eventually you end up having to be very creative with your wording.  LOL!

So on my last post I had mentioned that my mojo wasn't working.  I stand corrected.  It was working but it was a very looooong drawn out process - OH - MY - GAWD.  Took me over a stinkin' week to make that card....that's just not right.  But this one only took me a morning and even tho it doesn't quite feel like one of my cards, I don't mind how it turned out.  Something is wrong with me tho.  I'm just not into making cards and I hope that changes soon.  I miss it.

Enough about my whining!  I really did enjoy this sketch but I always love Chelsea's sketches and here is yet another fabulous one.

I hope you get a chance to swing over to CLP Sketch Challenge blog and check out the amazing creations from the 1st of the month as well as this mid month reminder.  OH and this month CLP is being sponsored by The Beary Scrap and offering a $20 voucher for their online store.  Sweet or what?!!

MDUC #102

Stitching and Swirls

This post has a few more pics then usual, which you can click for a bigger view so I hope you enjoy!!  I did a gate fold card using the tutorial found at Splitcoaststampers but I changed my sizing to fit a 6" x 6" card.  Part way through making this card I realized how much it resembled my last MDUC project.  I used the same papers!!  OMG you're kidding!  BUT...these new Sweet Rainbow papers are hard to refuse.  So apologies for not showing you something different.  Stick around cuz it's coming.  LOL!

Ok I gotta admit this one had me stumped for a bit.  I had no problems with the swirls (luuuuuv them!) but I don't have a sewing machine (I WISH) so I wasn't sure about the stitching part but finally decided to stitch around my heart.

Here's a closer view of my stitched heart.  I covered a Maya Road chipboard heart with Sweet Rainbow paper and punched holes using my Crop-A-Dile.  Then I did some kind of special stitch I found online.  Love all my Doohickey's!!  I used "Heart Swirl", "Leaf and Swirl Die" and "Butterfly Doohickey (which looks to be out of stock at Magnolia-licious Store but Diana is always getting stock in).

And now a view of my gate fold card opened right up and just waiting for a sentiment to be stamped into the middle!!

So these cards are a lot of freakin' work and now I understand why I don't do the insides.  My GF Cheri says she has to use up some of the paper anyway, which is a great point but she makes it sound like a 5 minute job.  There must be something wrong with me cuz I just don't find it that easy.  But it sure looks nice!!

Please stop by Magnolia Down Under Challenge this week and check out all the other UH-MAZING projects.  These ladies are truly creative and UBER talented!  Would love to see you join us in this challenge.

I'm also entering my card into Magnolia-licious Challenge which is a picture challenge of a pink telephone.  CUTE! Have a great weekend!  Hugs!

Father's Day

So here's to a HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all the dad's out there!!  I was soooooo not into making father's day cards this year as I always have such a hard time picking images for men/dad cards.

Hey so check this out!!  I've used a fabric tag from Webster's Pages, some hardware from 7Gypies, Tim Holtz tissue tape and a key.
Voila - man card!  LOL!!  OH and oh my gosh we can't forget the Bo Bunny "Timepiece" papers.  Those are so gorgeous!!

I've used this wonderful sketch from Creative Accents Challenge blog and with a twist they've challenged us to a masculine theme.  So if you need another sketch, well here you go!!

I'm also entering my card into Papertake Weekly Challenge
which is "Dads & Lads".

Ok have a great Sunday everyone!
