CLP #43

Seems like we've been gone for ages doesn't it?!  Welcome back to CLP's first challenge sketch of the year #46.  You still have 16 more days to enter this month's challenge to see if you can win yourself 4 images from Sassy Studio Designs

You can kind of see the Spica pens I used on her hair and the stars.  And how do you like the way I have the glow of the light on her face, hair and clothes?  That's tricky!!  Well....to me it was but I think I have it figured out now.  Y11 seems to be a good color to use.

So the reason it's so long is because it's actually a notepad and a thick one at that!!  I forgot to take a picture of that during the daytime so I threw in this one.

And voila the sketch!!  For some reason I found this one nice and easy.  Love them!

I'm entering my notepad into the following challenges:

MDUC #128

"ANYTHING GOES"

My first card of the year and I am just loving this new Sweet Crazy Love line.  I've masked 2 images called Welcome to a Lovely Home and Tilda with Wrapped Heart, which isn't in at Magnolia-licious right now but that is where I got her and 6 more of her amazing images!!  Ya, I went a little crazy!  Sweet crazy tho!

So this week at MDUC anything goes.  Nice and easy to work into the new year.

It took me HOURS and lots of Copics (see below) to complete this scene but I love how it turned out.  Every layer is distressed and every blue cardstock layer is distressed and topped with Stardust glitter.  I also hand-stitched the base layer and the 2nd layer with twine.  If you'd like to see more inspiration please check out what the MDUC team have come up with for us.  As usual everything is just stunning there!

I'm going to enter my card into the following challenges:

Last 2011 Christmas Card

Now here's a card I never did post!!  I just found it in my draft posts.  LOL!!  Well, I might as well share it anyway.  I was hoping to have taken a better picture of it but I had given it away.  Darn it!  OH yes I remember now.  This is when my camera lens broke.  Happy to say that I have received my new lens and wow speedy service from Amazon.ca.  I am addicted to that website now.  LOL!!

I used a lot of glitter on the snow and furry hat but but I see it's a bit hard to see.  Might look better if you click on the picutre but the way Blogger is set up these days it's hard to enlarge a photo.  Anyway, you get the idea!!  Have a great week!  Hugs!

Warm Winter Wishes

Isn't this just the freakin' cutest?!!  As soon as I saw it, it was a MUST HAVE.  A new image from Sugar Nellie called Warm Winter Wishes.

I'm entering this into The Sugar Bowl Challenge, which is the sketch below with the option of doing something unusual.  So my unusual is trying to color these cuties to make them look like they have fur.  I think I did better on her then on him but I still think it's cute.

(Click on picture for better view of hair and glitter)

Great sketch!!

I would also like to enter my card  into Simon Says - Anything Goes!!

Sorry for the short post but I'm off to make my mom's card and I need all kinds of time for that one cuz it HAS to be special!!  hee hee

Enjoy your week!  Hugs!

Coffee Card Tutorial

Welcome to my FIRST tutorial!!  I didn't see this idea anywhere but actually just made it up myself.  WOOHOO there's a first!!  LOL!  It's fairly simple to make and an inexpensive way to send a small giftie.  You could also use the juice packs from the grocery store for people who don't drink coffee.

I make my cards 6" x 6" so if you make yours a little smaller adjust accordingly.  In this case I also distressed everything but that's optional.

First piece is 6" x 12".  I scored at 5 7/8" and then at 6 1/8" giving you a 1/4" spine on your card.  This could be made wider if you like because it will stand anyway.

Then you'll need 2 - layering pieces that are 5 3/4" x 5 7/8" and this is layering by 1/8".  I know some of you like 1/2" but once again you can adjust to the way you like it.

This is my sister's card on the inside, which you can see HERE and you'll notice later that they will change to a different background.  I had already taken a step too far when I realized I needed this picture.  LOL!!

I made this piece to go across the right hand panel but it's optional.  If you choose to do this it's 2" x 5 7/8".

Next you'll need a piece of paper that measures 2" x 5".  Take that piece and score it at 1/4" then at 1/2" and do the same at the other end like this:

Now you can finish decorating this piece how you like. I added some patterned paper and a piece of ribbon and at the end you'll also see I added some snowflakes.

Now adhere your double-sided tape to the first 1/4" at both ends.

Next attach your piece from above so you get this.  I then added 2 fabric roses because you won't hit them when you close the card.

After you've completed this piece don't adhere it quite yet.  Now you can tackle the front of the card because it's easier to lay it flat to finish the front.

Next adhere your coffee holder to the inside of the card.  Now this is where you'll notice the inside of my card changed from what my sister had to what I was working on.  I chose to emboss mine.

Next I've taken just a teeny piece of a glue dot and put it on the center of the pack of singles coffee from Starbucks then stuck it.  It's easy enough for the recipient to make a little tug and it will come out.  An optional idea is HERE where I tied on some nice Baker's Christmas twine to each packette.

And VOILA your finished product!!!  If you make one of these I would LOVE to see it!!

I hope I've worded this correctly enough for you to figure it out.  If not, that's why I added a ton of pictures.  LOL!

Check out Simone's coffee card too for some more ideas.

HAVE FUN!!
