MDUC #138 and CLP Sketch

I`m a bit short of time this month so I thought I would combine both the MDUC challenge and this month`s CLP sketch challenge and what a wonderful combo it turned out to be!!

This week at MDUC we are challenging you to use old treasure and recycle items such as corrugated cardboard, screws or whatever is unusual for your creation.  So you`re looking at mine thinking ok what has she used?

The ribbon is from a pair of laze around pants that I cut off because it was prettier to use for cards and I never tied it up anyway.  LOL!!  I tell you since the day I bought them I knew exactly where it was all going.  In my craft room!  LMBO!

Check out this gorgeous sketch!!  You still have 16 days left to enter this challenge for the month and who can`t use a sketch?!!

I just wanted to mention that I tried the Scandinavian way of coloring using Copics....yes Copics!!  I used Suzanne Dean`s tutorials and wow they were very very helpful!!  I also used Camilla and Kim for  inspiration so I had to hand out credit to those amazingly talented women.  I must say this is one of my favorite cards that I`ve made in awhile and I think that`s because I learned something new and it worked!!

I`m going to enter my card into the following challenges:

BUTTONS & BOWS

I love Saturday's!!  Welcome back to our new challenge at MDUC!!  I have SUCH a hard time with bows and really have to push myself to use them, which is funny because a lot of people use them on every card they make.  They do look gorgeous tho!!

I hope you can join us and check out the inspiration from the DT at Magnolia Down Under challenge blog.  The ladies have outdone themselves AGAIN!!

I'm entering my card into the following Magnolia challenge:

Hubby's Birthday

I always say that men's cards are so hard but honestly, I have to admit for me, they aren't. However, I realized I just don't like doing them!!  I actually asked my husband this year if I HAD to make him a card for his birthday.  His jaw just 'bout near smashed a dent into our floor so I suppose what the hell was I thinking?!!  At this point words were really unnecessary I suppose.  LMAO!!

So some tips I have learned for men's cards.....kraft paper, tags, buttons, anything Tim Holtz and lots of layers using masculine papers are all you need!!  It was weird to color up this image as I don't normally color anything without eyes!!

I'm going to enter this card into the following challenges:

Moving Along With the Times - Lots of Layers***

Card Makin' Mamas - Birthday Cards***

Allsorts Challenge - Anything Goes***

Wags 'n Whiskers - Masculine Birthday

Enjoy your weekend all!!

MDUC #134 - Sketch

Our next challenge at MDUC - SKETCH!!  YIPPEEE!  (see below)  This week I tried to tap it cool on all the extra everything.  hee hee .... ya, this is my simple card.  sigh...I just can't do simple.  That is such an art within itself I tell ya!

I finally broke down and bought the Tim Holtz doily die.  Is it ever CUTE!!  Wish I would have bought it sooner.  I like his die's because you can cut chipboard with them using the Cuttlebug, which gives your card so much more texture.

I cut the shaped card using my Silhouette....pretty sweet huh?  Too bad it won't stand by itself.  LOL!  Duh!  The flowers were also cut from my Silhouette.

This week's sketch:
If you have time, take a boo at the other lady's samples at MDUC.  WOW!  AGAIN!  Amazing inspiration over there I tell you!!

CLP #44

You know those days when you try to take pictures and they just don't want to photograph properly?  Ok that just struck me funny.  What they won't crack a smile?!  LMBO!!  OMG well I'm sure you know what I mean. (still giggling)

Today for CLP sketch challenge I'm using a new digi image from Pretty Little Stamps store formerly known as Gurlee Girl Stamps.  She looks so elegant doesn't she?  There are 2 more new ones that are just as pretty and if you'd like to see them just hop on over to the CLP blog to see them all prettied up.

I decided to make my first tea light book/card and they are so super easy.  Next time I will make it a smidge bigger to fit the actual Partylite candles.  I luuuuuv them cuz they smell soooooo good!

And here's this week's sketch.  LOVE IT!

Ok so a little too lazy to type out all the details so if there is anything you are interested in just ask me.  Thanks for stopping by!  Hugs!!
