I always say that men's cards are so hard but honestly, I have to admit for me, they aren't. However, I realized I just don't like doing them!! I actually asked my husband this year if I HAD to make him a card for his birthday. His jaw just 'bout near smashed a dent into our floor so I suppose what the hell was I thinking?!! At this point words were really unnecessary I suppose. LMAO!!
So some tips I have learned for men's cards.....kraft paper, tags, buttons, anything Tim Holtz and lots of layers using masculine papers are all you need!! It was weird to color up this image as I don't normally color anything without eyes!!
I'm going to enter this card into the following challenges:
Moving Along With the Times - Lots of Layers***
Card Makin' Mamas - Birthday Cards***
Allsorts Challenge - Anything Goes***
Wags 'n Whiskers - Masculine Birthday
Enjoy your weekend all!!
Love it Eulanda!! You're right about the recipe for a guy card...it's all ya need! And a fabulously coloured truck doesn't hurt either! Love all the Tim Holtz goodies too!!

Oh my gosh, this is so funny!! Love how your DH reacted...great!! And this card rocks!! Very masculine. I like the info about kraft, tags, etc...I'll have to remember this :)
ReplyDeleteHow funny that you said that to him, I said virtually the same thing to Paul this year and got a similar reaction!! What are we like? lol. As it turned out, I was rather pleased with the card I did for Paul in the end, and you should be WELL pleased with yours - it's BRILLIANT! Love, love, love it, and thanks for the tips on mens cards - makes total sense when you think about it!

At least I have an excuse for not knowing how to easily make a guy card- I mean the men in my life are at least as girly as I am (they are gay after all and they wear more jewelry than I do!) but now I know the secret- I'll keep this recipe on file just in case I need it!
