Krista Smith Stamps "Birthday Girl"

Do you remember Saturated Canary?  The artist was Krista Smith and although that company doesn't exist anymore, as an artist, she is still creating and selling and I've always loved colouring up her images.  I found time to colour again!  YAY ME!  🤣🤣🤣

It's very rare that I colour something twice, not because I don't like it but because I don't normally have time.  Being a part of design teams for so long has me pushing along with all their new images, which I love!!  However, these were commissioned cards and this is what she chose!

This image is called "Birthday Girl" and you can find her here on Krista Smith Stamps Etsy Shop.

I've coloured her up using my copics and in this case the customer asked for a blonde with blue eyes and her favourite colour is lime green.  This was a challenge but I like how it turned out.  😀. Both are shaker cards as well.  Just some fun interaction for the recipient.

And this one was for a recipient with brown hair, blue eyes and favourite colour being purple and turquoise.  I love this combo!
And this is the first time I have ever duplicated a card as close as this but the customer was short on time.  Thankfully the girls live in different cities so they'll never see each other's cards.  LOL!  And the customer was happy!!  That's what counts!  😀💕

Thanks for stopping by I hope you liked my creations for today!!

Relax With Wine

Good day!  Just wanted to share a card I made for my MIL's bday.  I've used some papers from my favorite collection of the year from Pion - Summer Falls into Autumn.  I'm pretty sure this is the last card I have to show you from that collection.  LOL!!  I've used some sunflowers from my stash that I bought from Magnolia-licious years ago.  So cute!

Isn't this little wine bottle adorable?!!  I have 4 and now I'm down to 1.  Dang I knew I should have bought more.  LOL!!

I decided to make a shaker card and add little wine glasses for the shakes.  LOL!!

This image is from Make It Crafty by Krista Smith called "Relax With Wine".  Don't mind if I do!  LOL!  Yes she is still doing a few things here and there so YAY for us!!

I've colored her with Copics and even drew in some marks on the table to make it look like a wood table.  I thought I was pretty clever with that seeing as I just learned it taking one of the courses from Kit & Clowder.  hee hee

Have a great week all!
Hugs!

First Snow

Time to get going on some xmas cards!  REALLY??!!  Well ... yes.  LOL!  And Christmas will get here soon and I still won't have enough!  I could do JUST xmas cards from now until then and never have enough!  Cuz let's face it, who wouldn't love to get a Christmas card?!

My first one to show you is starring "First Snow" by Krista of Saturated Canary.  She's so sweet!  Get these images while you can as she will be shutting her store at the end of August.  Sad but understandable.  This one is on sale for $2.50 USD right now.  I've used this awesome mitten card art from Dutch Doobado and you can find a whoooole lotta these card art templates at Noor! Design UK.  I LOVE them!  They are far cheaper than buying the shaped dies but I love those too.  I can just have more of these.  LOL!

Isn't this snowflake die something?!!  I got it late last year and didn't get the chance to use it until now.  One of my favorites!!!  I did get another new one already but I'll reveal that one later.   Yikes!  LOL!  Isn't that purple daisy pretty?!   Eeeeee!!!  Luv them!

And the tree dies and snowflake die is from Noor! Design UK.  See a pattern here?  Noooo, not my favorite store AT ALL!  LOL!

A little distress ink coloring and these colors are:

Coat - Dusty Concord
Jeans etc - Faded Jeans
Hair - Walnut Stain
Mittens - Hickory Smoke

And why not add another one to the post?!!  Again with using the mitten card art template and more dies from Noor! Design UK - Winter sentiment, Santa and his sleigh, Reindeer dies and the snowflake border.

Added a few cute Wild Orchid flowers and a Tim Holtz sentiment.  Hard to see but I did add a bunch of Stickles all over.  As usual, things look better IRL.  The pearl and blue lace come from Live and Love Crafts.  Sandie's got an incredible selection of gorgeous laces!!

And another image done with distress inks (see colors below)  Will I ever switch back over to Copics?  Yes, when using red because I can't seem to find a good red I like yet with the DI's but it'll come.  LOL!  And yes anyway.  I think my Copics are screaming.  I'm sure that's the muffled sound I hear coming from my craft room.  LOL!

DI colors used:

Ok so I WAS gonna add one more winter card but I'll save it.  LOL!  Besides, I've been writing my post up for a good part of the hour now so off I go but thanks for stopping by!

Hugs!

Grad 2015

A friend of mine asked me to make up a grad card for her daughter but at first when she said the colors were GOLD and BLACK I thought UGH!!  Then to top it off with blonde hair?!!  DOUBLE UGGGGGGH!!  Not my strong suit!!  HOWEVER!!  I met this challenge with a vengeance!!  I had a whole lot of fun making this card and it came together incredibly fast.  I was surprised.  So ya, instead of taking a whole day it only took half.  LOL!!

I fretted about what image I was going to use until Krista from Saturated Canary put this cutie out this year.  Ahhhhh excellent timing!!  (Copic colors listed below)  Name of image "Grad Girl 2015".  The grad cap is a chipboard piece from Southern Ridge Trading Company and I painted it with Mod Podge then covered it with Tim Holtz distress glitter.  Looks sooooo cool IRL!!

I used this gorgeous chipboard clock from SRTC as well.  (LOVE THESE THINGS!)  VIN-547  Added my usual big bouquet to top off the card!  LOL!

And I just love this book charm I found in my stash from Live and Love Crafts!!  PERFECT!!

The blackberries and that gorgeous piece of white lace is also from LLC.  The little butterfly die and the star border are from Noor! Design.

Ok so 1 more grad card to go for my stepson.  STEPSON FOLKS!  A GUY GRAD CARD!  OMG!  Sigh...I have to make it this weekend so we'll see how I make out with that.  Yikes!  I am clueless on this one.

Thanks for stopping by!  I appreciate the comments!  XO

Lovely

Welcome back to my blog!!  I'm super excited to share this card made for a wonderful friend who's granddaughter graduated this year.  I couldn't believe how excited she was when she got it.  So very appreciative of it and those people are the ones I love to commission cards for.  Thank you Marg!!!

As you can see I've used "Lovely" from Saturated Canary and popped her up on a bed of gorgeous papers from Maja Design.

The grad cap is chipboard from Southern Ridge Trading Company and I've painted it black, covered it with Tim Holtz crackle then "frantaged" it.  Is that a word?  LOL!!

This tag is also from Southern Ridge Trading Company #TAG-047.  I covered it with some Maja Design paper, added some frantage, the "congratulations" labeler sentiment and then popped some pearls on it.

Don't you just love resin pieces?  OMG if I could add one to every card that would be perfect!!  I'm getting quite a collection so that just might be possible.  LOL!

Don't forget about my Tiddly Inks giveaway if you haven't signed up yet!

HAVE A GREAT WEEK MY CRAFTY FRIENDS!

Kit and Clowder Monthly Challenge

Ok so this post is gonna be JAM PACKED today so bear with me!
A friend contacted me to make a few cards for her and sent me this sample to start with.  THE SECOND ROW, not the one with a square around it.  At first I thought it would be easy, until I tore apart my room to find matching papers and NODDA!  OMG NOW WHAT?!!
M R Designs is what!!  She made up these papers especially for me and they are stinkin' PERFECT!!   Thank you Michele!
This chipboard sign is from Southern Ridge Trading Company so I just added some letters from my labeler and added some gesso!

And my favorite thing to do...add EMBELLISHMENTS and flowers!!  Love my Kort and Godt white chrysanthemums, my resin heart and metal deco from Live and Love Crafts one of the sponsors for this month's challenge at K&C!

So the new challenge going on at Kit and Clowder this month (one of my favorites!):

I have figured out some basics that help when you have to make one....lace, pastel colors, white, distressing and gesso!  That makes it easy!!  Check out all the other DT cards for inspiration at the K&C Challenge page on the website.

This month K&C has 2 sponsors:

Prize: 10£ gift voucher

Prize: $20 gift voucher

Isn't that wonderful?  So this month you get 2 chances of winning!!

WOO HOO!

So I hope you can join us this month and
thanks so much for sticking through my long post.
Have a great weekend!

Saturday Birthday Party

WOW I have LOADED this card with all kinds of stuff from all over the place!  LOL!!  I started out with my favorite paper company "Maja Designs" and used the gorgeous Vintage Spring Basics.  I'm going nuts waiting for the new collection to come out.  Hopefully by the time this posts, we will have seen something new!  I just love those butterfly dies from Noor Design.  So pretty!

This picture is to show the cute little chipboard wood fence from Southern Ridge Trading Company.  I colored the fence with some TH daubers first and then spray some kind of gold flecked mist over top.  (Sorry can't remember the name.)  The flower is from Prima but I've had for a long time so it was nice to finally use it.  LOL!  The gorgeous lace is from Live and Love Crafts

Isn't this heart sign just the cutest?  This is also from SRTC and I painted it with TH crackle paint.  The "Love" sentiment, the heart sign and fence all comes in one set.

Cute image huh?!!  It's called an SC image called "Saturday Birthday Party" from Little Darlings Rubber Stamps.  I tried my hand at distress ink coloring again...kinda cute but I need a bit more practice.

Well thanks so much for stopping by!  I've been taking a bit of a break but I will be back!!  Don't forget about my BLOG CANDY this month!  This is what I'm giving away:

A Moment in Time

FINALLY!  I have been waiting so long to share this project with you!!  This week at LLC our inspiration is "A Moment In Time Theme".  Perfect idea for a calendar!!  I used papers from Maja Design's "Vintage Autumn Basics" collection.  One of my favorites Maja has created ... but I might say that about each new one that comes along.  LOL!!

The brown frame I have from Southern Ridge Trading Co.  A new online chipboard store right here in BC, Canada.  YAY for me!!  LOL!!  I covered it with some Tim Holtz paint and then added Gesso.

Here I've added a bunch of WOC flowers and one of my shabby chic bows and popped a vintage pearl on the center.  Also added some wooden hearts from LLC.  Perfect for the bit of Valentine's day we are celebrating today!

OH MY GOODNESS!!!  Isn't this lace just GORGEOUS?!!!  I wanted to break down the calendar into 2 sections.  One for the image and one for the calendar.  What is more perfect than this pretty lace?!!  NOTHING.  hee hee ... Well in my mind anyway.  LOL!  I used a Memory Box butterfly die and popped a little WOC flower in the center.

This image and sentiment are new releases available for pre-order at LDRS.  She's from the Saturated Canary line called "Yvonne" and the sentiment is from the "Vintage Everyday" sentiment collection.

I also loved using the clocks that I cut out from the Maja papers and added Gesso...TO EVERYTHING...AGAIN!  hee hee  I added my own calendar (3 months) and used a Spellbinders die underneath both WOC flower bouquets.

Thank you so much for stopping by!!!

Big hugs for everybody today and have a great weekend!!
