A Little Bit of Vintage

Good day!  I'm back with a little vintage piece this week!  I wanted to showcase this stunning Scrapiniec "Alamor 2" layered gate so I tried to stay away from adding a super abundant amount of embellishments.  It was super hard!  😁  I've used some new gorgeous papers from Reprint called "Butterflies" and "Up Pansies".  They are double sided so the "Up Pansies" piece had the mint lined on the backside of a very gorgeous flowered piece of paper.  I added a couple of die cuts from LDRS's "Victorian Border" and must say WOW those dies cut nicely!  I adhered a piece of drool worthy "Lace Fleur" at the bottom but have to admit it was hard not to hoard.  LOL!!

Isn't this "Lace Beau" butterfly incredible?  I'm not one to look at measurements so based on the picture in the store, would never have realized it was so big but I LOVE IT!  Underneath I added some brown sisal and if you haven't looked yet, there are some pretty new colors in stock.

I've made some Foamiran flowers using some white and teal colored ink.  The die cut is from Whimsy called "Hellebore" flower die set.  I used some round shaped bases that started out as white and then inked them up for the centers.  I added more sisal, a seam binding bow and snuck in a bon bon underneath.  Had to have my bon bon!

I'ved used an "Antique Jasmine" frame, added a Scrapiniec heart confetti piece and then added some crackle over the whole thing.  Took awhile to dry so it was the last piece I attached.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Noor April Challenge

And we're back with another Noor! Design UK challenge!

FLOWERS!!!

How easy is that?!!!  I love easy ones!!  Check out the prize as well.  They're always awesome!!

Awwwwww such cuties!!  This image and these papers are from Pion's "Our Furry Friends" collection.  Super super gorgeous collection.  I've added some amazingly sensational laces called "Lace Tilda" and "Lace Alencon" which also comes in a cream color.  I'm loving this new butterfly border from Joy "Butterfly Edge 2".  I've made 2 layers and popped some flowers on top.

Fantasy has some gorgeous foliage dies out and the bottom left one in this pic and in the below pic are called "After the Rain Twig" and the top is "Berry Twig 2".  The 2 leaves on the right are from Joy but there are 4 leaves on the die (2 larger and 2 smaller) called "Vintage Flourish Beech Leaves".  I've added a few flowers from the shop and a cute yellow fruit stamen.  There is quite a variety of colors to choose from for those ones.

I added some string to a miniature wooden spool because what little kittens don't like playing with string?  😀  And here again more gorgeous flowers, a BON BON (hee hee again my favorite), some stunning decorative glistening berries (more colors available) and a dazzling vintage filagree floral button.

Well I hope you can join our challenge this month!   Flowers are so perfect with spring right around the corner!!  Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate!

Have a wonderful weekend and see you next week!

Maja Design "Celebration"

I'm so excited to be playing with the new papers from Maja Design called "Celebration".  I don't normally use BLACK, cuz it's not so soft and kinda in your face but it seemed rather appropriate in a classic sort of way for this anniversary card.

Doesn't any celebration card need some straws?!  I think so too!!  LOL!  In my stash I found this puffy feather so I layered some sisal underneath a die cut of Joy's "Clock with swirls", which by the way, is a rather amazing piece!!  I have to hide any cards with feathers as I've learned that if I leave them lying out, someone in the house eats them.  I learned that a long time ago when I came home one day to find my card eaten up by my super sweet cutie cat.  My reaction?  GASP!!!  🙀  I couldn't even get mad at him as it was hours later and how would he know why he was getting into trouble by then.  Lesson learned!  LOL!

I added a clip holding another small pic from the ephemera page, then added a JoyCraft heart and a Fantasy die called "Berry Twig 2".

Thanks for stopping by!!

Vintage Romance

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Welcome back to a new and first challenge of the year at Noor! Design UK:

Again?!!  YES AGAIN!!  YAY!!!!  You should see the prizes for this month!!  WOW!!  Tracy is introducing some new papers called Mintay and giving 4 packages of papers away.  Phew!!  They sure look nice!!  I can't wait to get my hands on mine!!
Now on to my card!!  So today I'm using Maja's "Vintage Romance" which is such a gorgeous set and I can't wait to see what's coming next!!  I've use Joy's new "'Clock with Swirl" dies and that's actually both dies you see on my card.  I figured with this being New Years, I should have a clock somewhere on my card.  LOL!

The main image and dove image are from Maja's picture page so I thought I would incorporate that with some flowers and a Joycraft "Lacey Cotton Heart" and a few more flowers from Noor! Design.  Oh and I added the Joycraft "Lacey Butterfly" too.

It's been awhile since I made some flowers so it was time.  LOL!!  The big ones are Whimsy's "Peony" die using white Foamiran and I've added a foam spiral in the mix too.  For the stamens, I used some vintage matte white and inked them with TH "faded jeans" ink to match the centers.

Here's a close up of the big one:

I want to take this time to thank you for coming by when you get a chance.  I know blogs are a thing of the past but I still like using them for my own reference and it's usually to find out what combo I want when coloring an image.  LOL!  I wish you the best in 2018 and hope to see you back here!

Thanks so much for your comments and support!

Noor! Design UK September Challenge

YAY!!  A new challenge is up at Noor! Design and it's
FALL COLORS!!

Eeeeeeeee I LOVE FALL!!!!  The only thing I hate about it is the weather that follows.  LOL!  I also love making fall cards but it seems to happen so fast that I only get a couple in.  One month of it is already over!  BOOOOO!  😀  So, I got me some new papers and boy have I been using them up!!   I loved them so much I think I've already made 4 cards!!!  Pion's new collection "Summer Falls Into Autumn" is absolutely gorgeous!!  Rich rich colors!!  So for my first one I really wanted to use this beautiful tag and just layer, layer layer.  That's another thing I love about these papers.  There's so many matching pieces that you can use, it's easy!!

I made this sweet lily using Whimy's Peony die and popped in some super cute 3mm round stamens.  They're quite stiff so they stand up very well all on their own.  I inked the center using Tim Holtz distress ink and then dotted the petals using a TH marker that was the same color.

And here I added a Scrapiniec "Lily of the Valley Decor" piece for some flourish.

So there you have my first card from the latest Pion collection and more to come so I hope you'll stay tuned!!

Have a wonderful Sunday!!
HUGS!

Wishing You

A Happy Christmas!

I KNOW I KNOW!!  Crazy!!  So I have a love/hate relationship with Christmas cards in July.  On the one hand we all look at Christmas images and paper and think OH MY GAWD!!  On the other hand it's like "Ooooo OMG I can get started!!"  😀  Goodness knows I have a long list and I HATE doing more than one card of anything so normally they're all originals.  Yup leave it to me to make it harder for myself.  LOL!  So I just HAD to use the new papers from Pion Design called "Long Ago In Bethlehem".  They are very GORGEOUS and so traditional!!!

Here I am at it again with my Foamiran flowers.  I have decided something.  I think the shape of the flower is important but nothing to get super finicky and stressed over.   I find that it's what's in the center that is just as important and maybe moreso.  I'll see if I stand by that after making more.  LOL!  Oh speaking of which, have you seen the huge selection of stamens in the shop?!!!  OH MY!!!  Just incredible!!!  As you can see I even have some rolled flowers.  I heat the die cut with my iron and the more I heat, the smaller the die gets so I can have all kinds of sizes of rolled flowers.  I've got some pretty teeny ones.  Very cool!!!

I had some of these rusty stars in my stash from last year and had kind of forgotten about them.  Well...forgotten or maybe moved on to other kinds of cards because the season was over.  Isn't it a wonderful surprise when you hit your stash and can get excited all over again?!!  HA HA HA!!  Oh and I love this new SISAL product in the store.  What neat stuff!!

Anyway, there you have it for my first Christmas card of the year.  I have made some winter ones but this is officially my first.  I really like that a lot of suppliers are bringing out seasonal supplies a bit earlier.  I'd like to think it will help me be all organized and stuff.  Well...we'll see how that goes.  LOL!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Let Your Dreams...

Hi there!  I'm back with a simpler card ... well for me anyway.  LOL!!  I was quite pleased when I finished.  I love the color combo and that all started with these gorgeous papers from Pion called "Legends of the Sea".  I added a die cut as one of the layers from Fantasy - "Hexagon Grid" die.  Handy, especially for men's cards!

I added some stunning flowers from the shop and a wax and seam binding bow.  The "Antique Jasmine" frame is gorgeous and so are the others in the store, so I popped on an old button on top that I had in my stash to finish it off.

I normally have lots more photo's and descriptions to share but there comes a point where you need to back away from a card because it's finished and this was one of them.  The netting and shells were also from my stash but there is some netting in the store HERE.  Also, I found these stunning Antique Sea Shell charms on the site I would have used as well.  Dang it!  LOL!!  But you see?  It goes back to that ... BACK AWAY FROM THE CARD, IT'S DONE!   ha ha ha!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!

Maja Vintage Christmas

Ok so OBVIOUSLY I can't get enough of these new Maja Papers "I Wish" collection because I'm back with more!!  This time I made two cards!  I always think after I'm finished making a card - "why didn't I make 2?"  Wouldn't thtat be just as easy?  Well yes, as long as you have all the same ingredients.  LOL!

Love this Old St. Nick image!

I distressed all edges and added cocoa ink as well for some awesome shabbiness!

I made a little flower bouquet of roses, a pine cone (a little hard to see in the pic), pomegranate apple and some red berries.  Also, under everything, I squeezed in the Scrapiniec Mon Merry Cheri wreath.

I'm sharing both pictures to show the Nicolette and Antoinette buttons.  They are so pretty in real life!  Darn things wouldn't stay on so I finally got out the glue gun.  FINALLY!  They aren't going anywhere now!  LOL!

I also thought I would share a quick and easy project I made using the white wooden snowflakes and gorgeous Lace Desiree from the shop.

I added some epson salt into the bottom and a battery operated mini candle.

Ok I"m not good at taking night photo's but you get the idea.  😀

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek again!  Hopefully you get some crafty time this weekend!  I know I will!  YAY!!!  😁
