The Burtonesque Dolls Challenge #16

CHALLENGE #16 - VINCENT

When I first read our challenge for this week I was thinking WTH?!!  How and what am I going to come up with but after viewing the poem and then reading it again it was easy!!  Here you can read the POEM and here you can VIEW it.  It's 6 mins and if you do watch it, watch for a tree or something that I swear to goodness was used in Beetlejuice.  Tell me if you see it too.  So, I chose the 2nd paragraph, 2nd sentence:

He doesn’t mind living with his sister, dog and cats
Though he’d rather share a home with spiders and bats
There he could reflect on the horrors he’s invented
And wander dark hallways, alone and tormented

Admittedly, many of us hadn't seen the video for this, but once we did, we were hooked! So this week's challenge is to take a paragraph from the poem and use it for the basis of your card or project.

Can't wait to see what you all come up with!!

Come and visit the other dolls at

Stamps: Simply Betty Stamps "Miller", Whipper Snapper "Peek A Boo" and Tiddly Inks "Moon and Twisted Tree"
Paper: Basic Grey "Eerie"
Embellishments: Misc foil stars
Punches: MS gate punch, MS bat punch

WOWZA! Even though he is spooky, he is very cool. One of those bad boys you just can't stay away from! My mama would tell me to leave him alone!

Another fabulous interpretation! Yes, he is a bad boy and I was always warned to stay away from them. The part of the poem you quoted again reminds me of the overall "ennui" theme of the words of Ellowyne Wilde in her diary. (For those who are not into doll collecting, Ellowyne is a doll and she is thoroughly disillusioned).
Eulanda, stop by my blog. There is something there for you.
