Falling Snowflakes - Michele R Designs

So ... sorry I've hardly been around lately.  Some of you know but for those who don't, hubby and I are building a house so it has been quite time consuming as I'm sure you could imagine.  In the meantime, I've also lost my mojo for card making but not to fear.  I am building quite the craft room so I'll be back doing it sometime in the new year.

HOWEVER, in the meantime I am still digi scrapbooking and I've used the newest Christmas papers from Michele R Designs called "Christmas Time".  I used 3 of the 8 amazing - 12" x 12" papers you can purchase in one package and stitched them together like a quilt.  Not my idea, I did scraplift this and am so sorry I don't know the lady who created this awesome layout but would love to give her credit!!

I also used a number of "Christmas Time Elements Pack 2" and these even come in a .png extension so there is no cropping needed for the elements!!

Have you joined the Facebook Group yet?  Seems to me there is either freebies going on or a contest for the latest package of awesome papers and elements.  Check it out!!

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!!

Summer Meadow - New Papers

Woo hoo!!  More gorgeous papers by Michele!!!  These ones are called Summer Meadow and this time her elements are also included in a png file for those of us who like to scrapbook with her elements.  FUN!!

I also used a scrapbook template from Prelestnaya "Full of Memories Volume 28" and a digi scrapbook kit called "Time 4 Love" by Dita B Designs, who by the way, is an incredible digi kit designer.

I thought I would do a variety of pages using different papers from the 12 x 12 paper pack.

Then a page with a colored photo and black and white.

New to the store is a card kit pack too.  CHECK THIS OUT!!  This kit contains a sheet with the flowers on a separate image to cut out and decoupage.  Should make for a quick card or two!!  I'll print a few of those out and see how far I get so I can share with you.

If you haven't joined the FB page for Michele R Designs, check it out.  She gives a lot of freebies out too.  BONUS RIGHT?!!

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by.

Michele R Designs - Sophie's Rose

Well this was a FUN project for me to do!!  These are papers called "Sophie's Rose" from Michele R Designs and they were just released this past Friday!!  YAY TO NEW PAPERS!!!  I can never seem to get enough of her stuff.  Love her vintagy shabby chic style!!!

The butterflies are also from the "Elements 2" kit and I had to digitally cut them out.  Same with the postcard, tag and coupons but those pieces were much easier because they are square.

I used pieces from many digital kits to make this work out.  Took awhile but I love the end result and the picture is of my mom last New Year's.  Isn't she beautiful?!!!

The papers come in 6 x 6 and 12 x 12 so are gorgeous to print for any project.

There you have my project for today.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Mixed Media Frames

Well WOW did I have fun with these!  My sister told me she needed something at her hairdressing station cuz everyone else has a picture of their family except her.  She's so cute.  In THAT case have I got a frame for you!!

The picture is one of our recent favorites.  We're normally anywhere from 10-35lbs apart but right now, for some reason we're the same weight and looking very much alike these days.  I'm not sure that's ever happened except when we were kids.  LOL!

I bought a $2.00 frame at the dollar store and then added all kinds of lace, textures, art ingredients from Finnibair, painted it with mica powders and topped them off with GLITTER!!   Simone's all time favorite craft item!!  LOL!!

A few photo's:

When I applied the brick stencil, I had added some microbeads into the gel medium so I could get that texture.  Fun technique!

Here's the green one:

Filled a little tiny bottle with some micro beads.  It sure didn't take much.  LOL!

I have to mention how incredibly difficult it is to take a picture with glitter on it.  I actually even find that taking a picture of a black painted project is a challenge as well. The photo's don't do these projects justice.  I'm hoping when I get my new craft room to actually have a photo booth that is always set up.  We'll see.

Thank you for stopping by!  Hugs!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!

I almost ALWAYS color an image for a birthday card but since I've been to some amazing Finnibar courses recently, I thought I would try out my new found knowledge instead.

The papers I've used are new from Michele R Designs called "Delicate Florals".  I'ved used some Primary Elements Artist Pigments by Luminarte and added some water to create a mist.  I also use some mica powders from Finnibair.

Added a Prima resin frame and a few metal pieces along with a bunch of flowers!  I also added some "Art Ingredients" - micro beads and glass glitter.  This stuff is so much fun to play with!

I hope you like my mixed media birthday card.  The jury is still out on this one but everything is better in real life and mom loved it so that's what counts!  ha ha ha!!

Crazy Birds

HA HA HA OMG I thought this was so funny!   I just love these Crazy Birds!!  They're quite the popular item these days but I think it's just because you can add any sentiment you want to them and VOILA they're done!  Easy and quick to color too.  I  may have been a little too quick for this one as it is a bit simple but not every piece can be a masterpiece I suppose.  LOL!!

I used some new papers from Michele R Designs called "Romantic Shabby Chic", which have inserts and elements available and this banner is from "Elements Pack #1".

And here's my usual bouquet for you but also check out the bow that's in the "Elements Pack #1" as well.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out the FREEBIES that Michele offers on her Facebook group.  If you miss it there she always posts it into the store as well.

Happy Birthday Zombie

Quite some time ago I made 2 similar cards but it was for hubby's birthday and my stepson's.  Of course I had to hold off until both birthdays were over before I could share but lucky for me they both love the show Walking Dead.  Guys cards are tough so this was a fun change and they both laughed when they got them so I was happy.

This image is from Some Odd Girl and called "Kody Zombie".   There was even a tutorial I followed as I'm not exactly use to coloring zombies.  LOL!  I even added some tombstones and labelled RIP using my labeler.

This is a Tim Holtz tree die cut covered with black acrylic paint then I added some Tim Holtz distress glitter.  YES that stuff makes me able to use GLITTER for a man card.  LOVE IT!!  hee

And here from my stash is a matching glittered bat from Michael's some Tim Holtz skulls.

Ok so like I said, these cards were nothing but fun!!  It was nice to do a Halloween theme other than Halloween just like making xmas cards in July.  Have a great day!

Barkerville

It's helpful to enter challenges at the various scrapbooking forums to get pages done.  Pictures that have been left just sitting in a file and what happens to the next?  That's why I've spent time over the past few weeks sorting all my pictures from the last 10 or so years.  I had them scattered on my laptop, an old computer, some discs and my iPhone.

Anyway, now I'm just taking radom pictures and adding them to some great digital scrapbook kits made by some amazing designers such as this one by Ooo La La Designs.  The kit is called "Afternoon Stroll" and is full of gorgeous pieces.

It's funny how we think a picture should be of people always facing us.  As you start on this avenue of crafting you start to look at this a little differently.  Now it seems like everything is a good shot!  LOL!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Prima Altered Metal Frame

Recently my husband's cousin got married in Mexico so when they came back I wanted to create a keepsake for them.  I waited until I had one of their favorite pics and off I went with my Prima metal frame.

I have a number of pieces from Southern Ridge Trading Company and this seahorse is the first one.  I just covered this pretty thing with some Glitter Ritz and voila!  Doesn't that look rich?!

Here's some more SRTC chipboard I used.  The starfish is covered with a Tim Holtz dauber and then ... dang... OMG I FORGET.  LOL!  I think it's pearl glass glitter from Finnibair.  ha ha ha so sorry!!  The bird was covered using Inka Gold.  Pretty huh?

Of course I loaded this frame up with tons of gorgeous flowers from Wild Orchid and Prima.  Would you expect any less from me?!

The resin hearts and birds nest are from Prima and the shells are from Live and Love Crafts.

And this big resin piece is also from Prima.  This thing is decked right out with Prima huh?  hee hee  Yup I love me some Prima!!  Don't we all?!!

And last but not least the happy couple....Bryce and Larissa Treadway.  Congrats you two and welcome to the family Larissa!

Thanks for stopping by to visit my post friends!!

TWINTASTIC Scrap Page

OK this page was FUN!!  I suppose it's cuz it's full of great subjects.  HA HA HA!!  Me and my twin!   hee hee  She's so awesome!!  Love that lil thing to BITS!!  I'm even trying to grow my hair out long again like hers.

For this layout I used a set from an awesome store called Pickleberrypop.  Even the name is cute!  This designer is Vero and the collection is "Sherbert Inspiration (Collection)".  I quite like her designs and I'm sure I"ll buy more again.

If you click on the photo it should get bigger and you might even be able to read it but it doesn't say much.  I just had fun with rolling the text around the doily on the first page.  Oh and for those of you who don't know, I'm the one on the left page.

Ok I'm off!!  I like these pages because they don't need much explanation.  LOL!!

Thanks for looking!!

Michele R Designs Introducing Shabby Spring

This post is JUST to show off the new papers at Michele R Designs.  I'm really loving just playing instead of adding a colored image, although I love those too.  Sometimes it's just nice to change it up a bit.

For this card I used the new Shabby Spring collection and wow it is so pretty!

I've used some Prima flowers and lace, flowers and the little birds nest charm from Live and Love Crafts.

I've even added some mixed media to my card using stencils from TCW Designs.  Instead of using a matte gel I used some Whipped Spackle by Faber-Castell.  What I liked about it is how freakin' light and fluffy it is so adds no weight to the card.  Also colored it with gelatos.  FUN!!

Of course you can get the papers but also the elements and inserts as well.

I used another sketch from Cardabilities.  It does seem to make card making a little easier!
Hope you have a wonderful and creative weekend.  I will cuz hubby is going fishing for the weekend.  Woo hoo!  LOL!!

Designs by Jill - Quiet Moments

I've discovered I have a few favorites who create digital scrapbooking kits and one of them is "Created by Jill".  Her new bundle called "Quiet Moments" is jammed full of amazing papers and embellishments just to name a few things.

Here is my entry into "White Space" Challenge.  Now as many of you know, I am NOT really good with white space so that's why it was definitely a challenge.  LOL!!  I don't think I did too bad!

I really like that I can just look into my oodles of files of pictures and just pull something out from the vault.  Yup!  That's what I'll call it!  LOL!  Also, takes like 2 hours to create one of these instead of half a day.  Well...that's if I don't get too finicky.  LOL!

Thanks for looking!

Digital Scrapbooking!! OH NO!

Soooooo I wanted to start digital scrapbooking for a specific reason but OMG I'M OUTTA CONTROL!!  I LOVE IT!  I think I love that it's not messy, I don't have to be IN my craft room to do it, I can actually finish layouts at night (unlike cards), it AND I DON'T NEED INTERNET!  Well I do if I want to download kits but that's just fine!!

I've already done a few layouts, which I'll show you later because I love them but this one is of my furry Siberian, Rafferty.  Don't we all love our pets?  He's hypoallergenic so I don't have such severe reactions.  What a character!!

Kit used by Jumpstart Designs - "Beyond Serenity"

The blueprint is one from Pixels2Pages an amazing scrapbooking forum, tutorial site and amazing resources.  I have learned SO MUCH!!

Thanks so much stopping by!!  Don't worry, you'll still see cards too!!  I'm working on being super versatile!  LOL!

Grad 2015

A friend of mine asked me to make up a grad card for her daughter but at first when she said the colors were GOLD and BLACK I thought UGH!!  Then to top it off with blonde hair?!!  DOUBLE UGGGGGGH!!  Not my strong suit!!  HOWEVER!!  I met this challenge with a vengeance!!  I had a whole lot of fun making this card and it came together incredibly fast.  I was surprised.  So ya, instead of taking a whole day it only took half.  LOL!!

I fretted about what image I was going to use until Krista from Saturated Canary put this cutie out this year.  Ahhhhh excellent timing!!  (Copic colors listed below)  Name of image "Grad Girl 2015".  The grad cap is a chipboard piece from Southern Ridge Trading Company and I painted it with Mod Podge then covered it with Tim Holtz distress glitter.  Looks sooooo cool IRL!!

I used this gorgeous chipboard clock from SRTC as well.  (LOVE THESE THINGS!)  VIN-547  Added my usual big bouquet to top off the card!  LOL!

And I just love this book charm I found in my stash from Live and Love Crafts!!  PERFECT!!

The blackberries and that gorgeous piece of white lace is also from LLC.  The little butterfly die and the star border are from Noor! Design.

Ok so 1 more grad card to go for my stepson.  STEPSON FOLKS!  A GUY GRAD CARD!  OMG!  Sigh...I have to make it this weekend so we'll see how I make out with that.  Yikes!  I am clueless on this one.

Thanks for stopping by!  I appreciate the comments!  XO

Dunja's Birthday Blog Hop

Hi there!!  I sooooo welcome you to my blog today because it's getting pretty quiet around here lately.  LOL!!!  I'm here for a very special blog hop for an incredibly talented and wonderful birthday girl.  DUNJA DUCKER!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY FRIEND!  I was so honored when she asked me to be a part of this as there are some incredibly talented artists here.  I made something a little out of my norm but once in awhile you do get tired of coloring and just want to play with embellishments.  LOL!

Dünja gave us this inspiration piece and the first thing I noticed was that wood panel and immediately thought "YAY I HAVE SOME" from Simple Stories so off on my search I went!  Woo hoo!!  I also liked the color palette so tried to stay as close to that as possible.
I even added another piece of inspiration from Cardabilities and used this sketch.  Wow they have some amazing sketches over there and an incredible DT!!  Very inspiring!!!

I didn't actually have teal colored lace but had some white from Live and Love Crafts, so I used some Prima Spray - teal - and then dried with my heat gun.  I ALMOST burnt it.  HA HA HA HA!!  Ooops!  I had also pre-sprayed the teal flowers a few months back so was happy to have those handy.

I used a Prima resin bird piece and Prima die behind the clock.   Speaking of that clock (VIN-547) it's a chipboard piece from Southern Ridge Trading Company.  Oooooo she has some great stuff and if you live in the US and her shop is in Canada, it's a great deal for you guys right now because our dollar sucks and yours is awesome!  ha ha ha!  So take advantage if you can.  :)

These gorgeous branch pieces are also from Southern Ridge Trading Company (GAR-586) in the "New Releases" section.

So there is my project and now I'm sending you off to more amazing creations!!  Enjoy and hope to see you enter the challenge at the end.  More details there so I won't tell all!  Hee hee

ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND ALL!!
