Fathers Day Inspiration

Looking for a father's day card?  Well maybe this can be a little inspiration for you!!  I've used paper from the "Happy Hour Kit" collection by Reminisce for my base layer as well as one of the layered stitched tags.

Normally I don't use glitter for a masculine card but I die cut the glass from some "Best Creation" black glitter cardstock and filled Tonic's "Cheers Die and Shaker" shaker using some Heidi Swapp Marquee Love glitter (stash - YAY) and some Studio Katia glitter.

I added some Tim Holtz metal stars and twine pieces from my stash to finish this off.

Hope you've enjoyed my masculine project today!

Enjoy your weekend all!

Out of This World

HA HA HA OMG HOW CUTE IS THIS?!  I just love this crazy little guy!!  It's from Kraftin' Kimmie's clear stamp set called "Out of This World".   I paired this little fellow up with some papers from Polkadoodles called "Little Monsters" printable digi paper.  I made this card for a very special boy who turned 1 and is just the cutest boy EVER!  Ok, maybe a bit biased as he's my step-grandson but freakin' adorable!  .Had to add the googley eyes tho so he could shake the card even tho he might not understand the card.  Hee Hee

Sooooooo as a result of me having to buy some googley eyes, my sister was here and ended up doing THIS to my husband's truck.  OMG we laughed so freakin' hard and we had to be careful because he was home while we were doing it.  He did think it was pretty funny tho.  Good sport however, they didn't stay on for long.  He took the off before he left for work - damn him!  ha ha ha!!!

Happy thanksgiving to all my Canadian peeps!!

Have a great Sunday!!

Mister Tom's Treasures

Good day!

I don't have a lot to say about this one but it's a card I made for my dad's bday back in February.  I love these papers from Pion called "Mister Tom's Treasures".  It's always nice when a company dedicates the occasional collection to men.  I've been using this for a few years now and YAY ME I still have some left!  LOL!

I hope I've helped with some inspiration as men's cards are always tough for us!

Happy Father's Day

With father's day right around the corner and me, still loving Maja's "Denim and Friends" papers, I knew what I wanted to create for this week.  I've used 5 different papers from the colleciton and one of the snapshots from Maja's "Guy's in Jeans" picture sheet.

I've layered the heck outta my card and snuck in some Scrapiniec "Alamor Decorative Mesh" pieces and another from Fantasy's chipboard called "Sophisticated Test", while layering some brown sisal underneath.  I've added a few bark stars with Prima wax bows and popped a vintage circular brad on top.

In the bottom right corner I've added, a Tim Holtz nib and what I like to call a man flower.  It's Joycraft's burlap flower so I thought if ever a guy was to have a flower, make it out of burlap and make it a brown color.  LOL!

I just wanted to mention that these papers are
ON SALE!!!  😀

Enjoy your Father's Day weekend and thanks so
much for stopping by!

Reel Great Guys Set

Just thought I would share a card I made for a family friend who had a birthday a  month ago.  Sometimes it's also about just posting on your own blog to have a record of colors.  LOL!

I've used Maja's papers and just a few odds and ends I had in my stash.  This image is from Art Impressions called "Reel Great Guys" set so the sentiment is from there as well.  I can see me using this one again!

Thanks for popping by!

Denim & Friends

I MADE A CAS CARD!  Yes me!!  LOL!!  Ok well this is as CAS as I get.  😀  The new Maja collection "Denim and Friends" are really perfect for masculine cards.  I can't take credit for the wood looking pieces behind the image.  I saw something similar done on the Maja FB page but loved it so much I had to try it!!  I suppose that's what inspiration is all about!  The collection also comes with some great images and sometimes it's nice to have an image ready for a quicker card.

Luvin' these new Scrapiniec chipboard pieces in the store simply called "Stitches".  Yet another awesome item for men's cards.  I painted these with gesso so they would pop a bit more amidst my layers.

Here I have some bark stars painted with gesso and a couple of bows popped on top using the wax cord, which by they way, come in 13 different colors.  YES!!!!  It's true!

I think this must be the least amount of products I've ever used on one of my DT cards.  LOL!!  Oh but I make up for that on my next one.  hee hee  Thanks for stopping by!!!

Noor! Design UK August Challenge

Today's post is alllllll about this month's challenge at Noor! Design UK

ANYTHING GOES!

YAY!!!  I'm sharing my latest using Maja Design's latest "Denim and Friends" and WOW what a great collection!!  I'm always a sucker for men's papers because it's so much easier when they are matching papers and also, I like to have stock so I buy lots!!

I've added a key, bow then some natural sisal.  It's cool stuff!!  Also added some Fantasy die "Stars".  They have stitch work around the frame which looks very cool in real life!!

I've added some TH filmstrips, some wood stars and Scrapiniec "stitches" but I colored them with TH "faded jeans" distress ink.  They are sooooo easy to color!

Hope to see you in this month's challenge.  How much easier could it get?!!

See you on Thursday!

Hugs!

Let Your Dreams...

Hi there!  I'm back with a simpler card ... well for me anyway.  LOL!!  I was quite pleased when I finished.  I love the color combo and that all started with these gorgeous papers from Pion called "Legends of the Sea".  I added a die cut as one of the layers from Fantasy - "Hexagon Grid" die.  Handy, especially for men's cards!

I added some stunning flowers from the shop and a wax and seam binding bow.  The "Antique Jasmine" frame is gorgeous and so are the others in the store, so I popped on an old button on top that I had in my stash to finish it off.

I normally have lots more photo's and descriptions to share but there comes a point where you need to back away from a card because it's finished and this was one of them.  The netting and shells were also from my stash but there is some netting in the store HERE.  Also, I found these stunning Antique Sea Shell charms on the site I would have used as well.  Dang it!  LOL!!  But you see?  It goes back to that ... BACK AWAY FROM THE CARD, IT'S DONE!   ha ha ha!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!
