Foamiran Explosion Box

Last year Pion Design came out with a very interesting collection called "The Witching Hour".  Of course I LOVED it but I know some of you don't celebrate Halloween so I wanted to share how you could use some of these most amazing papers for an everyday project.  I think that the black accents in this collection are also perfect for masculine cards so I love having them in my personal store.  😁😁

I decided to create an explosion box to get a chance to feature the papers and some handmade flowers.  This is a picture heavy post so I hope you enjoy!

I've used apple white Foamiran and inked them with a TH ink cube and some daubers.   OH MY is this ever messy when you twist them but sooooo worth it!  I made the bigger flowers using Whimsy's peony die and die cut the leaves from the leaf die that comes with that set.

I've added a bow using some wax cord from Prima, which is available in the store in a great selection of various colors.  There are some black and cream colored stamens  in the centers but the bigger black ones are ball and rose shaped bases (see product list below) which aren't in stock right now but are coming.  In order to make them black, I actually dipped them right into a bottle of black distress ink and then let them dry.

Here is a flower I made using Whimsy's lily die, which also has some pieces in it for making a poinsettia.  What a great set to have in your stash!  I added some vintage cream stamens and covered the ends with gold Stickles.

BAM!!!  And here's the center of the box!!!  Ooooooooo so much to look at!

I used a couple of chipboard pieces from Wycinanka and a bronze butterfly and owl.  I even took a die cut from Joy's Circle Floral Hexagon die and cut it in 4 to fit over some of the corners.

I distressed the edges of a Scrapiniec butterfly, cut out a Pion butterfly and added a nib to the top as part of the main feature.

Here are more Foamiran flowers but this time I used Rosy Owl "Flower Dies 1" and again added a mixture of stamens.  Under the flowers I added some metal leaves for a bit more gold.

Ok so my latest that took me HOURS to finish!  LOL!!

Patchwork of Life

Good day!!  Well I just enjoyed a 4 day weekend and got ahead of my card making a smidgen!  Well I don't really know how far ahead you can get because time flies by so fast!  LOL!  I played with some of the new papers from Pion's "Patchwork of Life" collection and used their gorgeous image that came with it from the "When I Was Little" sheet.

There's not a whole lot to say about this card as I tried to keep it somewhat simple to show off the gorgeous image and Scrapiniec "Grapevine Oval 03" frame.  I made a nice little bouquet using some Wild Orchid Craft flowers.

ISN'T THIS LITTLE BEE ADORABLE?!!!  OH MY!!   I just love this little fella - so pretty!!  It was hard to use instead of hoarding it.  LOL!!  Note to self - MUST GET MORE!

I snuck in Fantasy's "Bazaar Die", which surprises me as that it's still in stock!!  It cuts beautifully and looks amazing.  Well...I'm biased cuz I have one.  LOL!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I will be back to share again in a few days!!

Theodore and Bella

Good day!!  Here I am again!!  Instead of my usual colored image, I'm sharing a card using Pion's "Images from the Past" from the "Theodore and Bella" collection.  That collection is so stinkin' cute!!  As the bottom of the card you can see I've used some pearl trim and OH MY it's stunning in real life!

Instead of using a lot of embellishments as I usually do, I wanted to leave the focus on the beautiful papers and Foamiran flowers so I made lots for this card.  I used Whimsy's new Peony die for the brown flower and Rosy Owl's Flower Dies 1 & 2 for the apple white colored ones.

A closer view showing the stamens that I mixed together using 1mm, 3mm and 6mm sizes.

The leaves are also made using Foamiran and Rosy Owl's Trailing Leaves and Elegant Leaves dies.

Ok there you have it!! I hope you have a lovely weekend and if you get a chance, don't forget our challenge this month is DIE CUTS!!  EASY!!  There's still lots of time to enter!

Challenge Time!!!

CHALLENGE TIME!!

This month at Noor! Design UK we are challenging you to use:

FLOWERS!  YAY!!!!

I've had this gorgeous "double lace butterfly" from the shop for some time and I never thought about using it for the main piece until now.  See if you hang on to something for long enough, eventually you'll find a use for it.  Now you're thinking "ok she's a hoarder" but only when it comes to anything crafty.  Yes, I'm a crafting hoarder.  LOL!!  I suspect I'm not alone here.  😀

I have to tell you that this idea was NOT my own.  I borrowed it from Susannes Halseth and when I saw her card I immediately thought "Ooooo I HAVE TO DO THAT!".  It's a great way to show off Maja Design's "Vintage Romance" papers.  I used Scrapiniec's "Lavender Mist" stems to layer and some gorgeous WO flowers for those last touches.

Again more flowers and Lavender Mist stems with a glass bead and strawberry in each bouquet.  I also added some cheesecloth underneath and touched a few area's with some Gesso.  Love that shabby look!!

This butterfly was kind of hilarious.  I had my husband hold the top layer of wings up and then I sprayed with self-adhesive glue and covered it with "Diamond Dust" glitter.  We did it again with the top layer but that self-adhesive glue is sticky!!!  It took us awhile it get it off our fingers but he was a great sport about it.  In fact, adding the glitter was his idea!!!  LOL!  It's sooooo glittery in real life!

Thanks for stopping by to check out my shabby Maja butterfly card!!

Enjoy your weekend when it gets to you and I hope you find some crafty time!
Hugs!
