Waterlily Tilda

So as you may have noticed my blog has been pretty quiet lately.  I have been away but am also just taking a break from my regular DT duties (except CLP).  I need to rejuvenate the creative flow as I just found everything to be more of a deadline and obligation then fun.  It always comes back tho.  :)  Good thing because I have a room full of product.  LOL!   Sorry I haven't been around to visit you but I'll be back to that as well.

I will occasionally post from time to time but it will be cards that I do just for fun.  YAY!  I'm trying to learn how to distress ink color and so far it's been a challenge but learning Copics didn't come easy either so practice, practice, practice.  This was my first decent image that I could actually use after about 10.  I just love the softness of distress inks.  So pretty when it's done right.  LOL!  I just need to figure out how to add some more shading but that will come.

This is a new image called "Waterlily Tilda" from the Summer Memories Magnolia collection.  I think she's one of my favorites!  I added some Stickles to the water, wings of the tiny butterflies and a smidgen on the ribbon in her hair.

I'm going to enter her in the following challenges:

Card Makin' Mamas - May Flowers
Magnolia Stamp Lovers - Hip to be Square - square card
Tilda's Town - A new challenge blog - Anything Goes**

Well off to make some blueberry muffins and go for a walk!  Hope you all enjoyed your weekend!  Hugs!

This is truely gorgeous.
I find there's two ways to do shading. One is to keep adding colour to the area you want shading and use small circular motions to blend it out, but not all of the way. Or, in the very darkest areas put a bit of black soot, walnut stain, pumice stone or vintage photo (depending on what you think goes best with the colour) and blend out and then when this has dried go over again with the original colour. Does this make sense?? If not e-mail me.

Hi, I know just how you feel!
I have resigned from three DT's lately and kept only one. I know quite a few girls who are doing this because they have little time for themselves. I am now enjoying making" ME" cards and feel so much happier!
Keep in touch
